Monday, January 14th, 2008When your site moves to a new domain or a page moves to a new location or the file name changes for whatever reason, search engine crawlers will keep trying to find the moved file(s).
The web server will handle the situation by either giving back a 404 Not Found HTTP response which tells the search engine spiders and web browsers a note that sorry but the page cannot be found on the server. Search engine spider will eventually remove these pages from their indexes. (more…)
